Academic Career:
Marcin Kołakowski Ph.D. specializes in literary and cultural studies of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. His areas of research also include: contemporary Spanish and Latin American novel, queer and gender studies, the influence of new technologies and new media on the novel genre and theory of architecture and its relations with literary theory. He has a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of the Western Culture (Studia Filologiczno-Kulturoznawcze) from the University of Warsaw, where he specialized in the literature and culture of the French, Spanish and German-speaking countries. At the University of Granada (Spain) he completed a doctoral programme in literary theory and comparative literary studies and holds an international Ph.D. (cotutelle) of the University of Warsaw and the University of Granada (Doktor Nauk Humanistycznych and Doctor por la Universidad de Granada, respectively). His thesis entitled "Architecture of the Contemporary Spanish Novel: 2006 - 2014" was focused on the poetics of contemporary prose in Spain. His present line of research includes the representation of social exclusion in literature and the study of Argentinian and Cuban narrative.

2018 – 2019 - participation in the international project "New technologies in scientific and didactic activity and academic English" carried out at the Department of Modern Languages of the University of Warsaw, co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020 (POWR .03.04.00-IP.08-00-PKD/16). The project was aimed to develop new competences of the scientific and didactic staff in the field of new technologies in science and didactics as well as in the field of academic English language.
